Looking for somewhere fun to hang, have a few drinks, listen to some good jazz and blues, and experience classic Greenwich Village charm? Try Arthur's Tavern, at 57 Grove Street, just west of 7th Avenue South. Check a map to get around this part of the city, 'cause it's not like the grid around midtown and uptown in Manhattan, and can get a little confusing if you're not familiar with the area. Anyway, Arthur's has NO COVER charge, and music that's actually good to listen to and won't drive you deaf. There supposedly is a two drink minimum, but you're going there to have a few anyway, right? The joint features some rather eclectic decor, and can get somewhat crowded and loud, but it's a lot of fun and won't break your wallet. Check it out next time you're planning to head downtown. You won't regret it.
